I have just finished watching the “On Your Bike video. What a great motivational presentation. It was light, fun, and the excellent information was so well presented. If I had known it was on I would have been there.
Caroline the presenter, Rebecca, from REV E BIKES and your own council rep, were a fund of knowledge clearly listing the advantages of cycling particularly to the over 50”s.
I have ridden bikes all my life. Now after spinal surgery I am unable to ride a conventional bike and I have discovered the recumbent bike/trike giving me a new lease on life.
I now ride most days, either alone or with my wife who also rides, Also I continue to ride with my cycling group, a social occasion which as we grow older is so important. All my riding is on bike paths and rail trails.
To seniors who may have serious physical limitations , my sincere and encouraging comment is to get a recumbent, go riding and start living again.
I have electric assist fitted by REV E Bikes to help on the hills and keep up with the younger, faster riders in our bike group, a most worthwhile addition.
By the way, I am 91 years of age. Thank you WATAG for your initiative for what you are doing and have presented so clearly to the Over 50”s

      Thanks Rex.
      Your comments are much appreciated.
The “council rep” was in fact Graeme Stone from WATAG. He was the principal organiser of the event.
Keep riding, and let’s hope it encourages others to do the same.
